About Us

Besides Amateur Radio, which is my most favourite occupation, I like to write personalized software besides what exists on the 'market'.

First 'studies' were done on a Commodore C-128D where I learned BASIC. I even managed to write a PC-Tools-like software that made life much easier to me.

Back in 1989, I got my first PC, a 80286 based machine, which 'supported' much of my programming work. In early 1990, after having learned how to use Pascal and C, I wrote my first Amateur Radio logging software. It was not as powerfull as the present version but it included all features I needed.

Meanwhile, due to my participation in Hot Air Ballooning, I was asked to write a competition software. As you may imagine, the market for this kind of programs is not very big and so are the programs. None of the programs full-filled the needs of the organization for the 93 World Championship, so we decided to write our own software with quite some success. Starting in 1992, we had 10 months for realization and testing (real time). Needless to say, it worked flawlessly.

In 1993, the Luxemburg Diver Team needed a software for their competition. Based on the log-book and hot-air balloon championship, it was an easy task to adopt their rules.

Some time later, I got in touch with a 4G language. PowerBuilder seemed to me an easy way to get access to a relational database and so I decided to get my own copy to rewrite the logging program. Since then, Lux-Log for Windows was born.

Applications realized so far:

  • Champ - A Hot-Air Balloon Championship Scoring Program (discontinued, not Y2K compliant)
  • Lux-Log for DOS - An Amateur Radio Logging Program (discontinued, not Y2K compliant)
  • Lux-Log for Windows - An Amateur Radio Logging Program
  • Splash - A Diving Championship Scoring Program
  • WLOTA-Award - A World Light-House On The Air Award management software for applicants and checkpoints.
  • Next version status (4 Oct 2007)
    • Entry/Standard and Contest/Run: applied work around to unlock radios FT847 and FT857
    • Query/Log Statistics: added some statistics
    • Print/Label/QSL label: added label type 'Sheet - 70 x 36 mm'
    • Help/System Information: removed 'Colors'
    • some cosmetics
